Bliss in the garden

Stu and I have been housesitting for his parents for a number of weeks now and I've fallen in love with the simple pleasures of sitting out in the sun with a cup of tea, looking at the flowers and enjoying the quiet (so different from my tiny flat in the city!)

These pictures reflect my idea of a perfect garden to chill out in.

Succulent pot

I am absolutely loving this pot of succulents at Stu's parent's house. The purple succulents look just like flowers amongst the green and reds, adding colour to the backyard all year round. They are really low maintenance too.

Pretty neat, don't you think?

Framed!

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but I find sometimes a frame tells a story too.

What do you think?

Fried green tomatoes

We've all heard of green and red tomatoes, but did you know they also come in orange, yellow and deep currant? Stu recently bought a medley box of tomatoes that came in the most amazing colours. It was such a delight to grill them on a bed of salt- a perfect addition to the mezze plate we prepared for our guests on the weekend. They tasted sweet and tart and oh so yum!

Twinkle little fairy lights

Oh how I love fairy lights, they twinkle and shine in a myriad of colours, and if anything, these pictures show they are not just for Christmas time.

Do you love fairy lights?

A dandelion wish

A few moments after I packed up to leave country NSW, I made a dandelion wish. I wished that one day I'd leave the rat race and the exhausting city life behind and live a clean, quiet life in the country.

What do you wish for?
