Blast from the past

Today, I'm feeling quite inclined to engage in some childhood reminiscence and would like to share with you my favourite Disney cartoons.When I was about 8, I came first in a dancing competition and my prize was a VCR of Sleeping Beauty. I watched it on repeat so many times, and till this day, cannot decide if I like the pink or blue dress more.Did you know this was the first movie I watched on the big screen? I remember wishing I had red hair and could sing like Ariel. I loved it so much I bought the soundtrack on cassette too. Here's a confession: I always prefered Tinkerbell to Wendy (Wendy was too much of a goody two shoes!) and I really love the idea of believing in fairies.

Monday blues are so passé; I'd like to start my week off on a happy note as I have these to be joyful about:

1. I'm watching The Hedgehog movie with the girls; I love the book and hope the movie doesn't disappoint.
2. I bought a new pair of jeans - 40% off!
3. I've been good and did my taxes early this year.
4. I found out my fav. tailor has relocated somewhere - and has not shut down completely (phew!)
5. I can feel the air changing, it's less crisp and a little bit warmer, which means summer is coming...wheee!

Furry issue

Lately, I find myself drawn to furry things.

Yet, I'm hesitant to rush out and buy a fur item. Fur is beautiful, soft, warm and luxurious, no doubt, but it's extremely cruel to kill an animal in the name of fashion. Synthetic fur comes to mind, but I read somewhere that some "synthetic" fur are actually dog and cat fur (yuck.)

I recently discovered an Australian label, Flannel, that makes clothes with eco fur. The fur is shaved (not skinned) off an animal and then carefully stitched on to make for example, this rabbit fur coat below. I think I can justify a purchase like that. What are your thoughts on fur?

I love Frankie and I love baking, so it made so much sense that I rushed out to buy Frankie's Sweet Treats. Old school favourite treats- sweet, indeed!

What are you doing this weekend?

If I could have my way, I would love to run along the beach and have a splash in the water. But Sydney is cold, dark and gloomy at the moment, so I plan to stay indoors where it's warm and dry.
