Mixed up

All mixed up is what I'm feeling today; it's my last day of work at a place where I've made lots of wonderful friends and enjoyed what I do for the last 4 years, so it makes me sad to leave. At the same time, I'm feeling a whole lot of mixed emotions about my new job that I start next week. I'm excited but nervous, scared but thrilled all at the same time.

Tell me, what do you do to calm your nerves when you feel like that?

Pet loves

Pictures from weheartit.

I think that people who have unusual pets are so darn cool.

The strangest pets I've ever had was a tank of caterpillars because I wanted to watch them change into butterflies. But it all got too creepy for me and I started having nightmares about them crawling all over me, so my dad had to throw them out.

What unusual pets do you have?

Lace me up

How pretty and girly is lace? Makes me wonder why I don't have more lacy things.

In the mood for love

Maggie Cheung makes the cheongsam look so good, I initially watched the movie just for her but found I loved everything else too; the poignant story of heartache, its very multicultural soundtrack, the acting, the 1960s setting of Hong Kong. It's one of my favourite movies of all time.

Happy Meal

I think one of my favourite meals of all time has to be a homecooked breakfast on Sunday mornings, enjoyed with Stu. We even have a routine going; we sleep in till our hungry stomachs growl and then we make ourselves a cup of coffee while making cooking up some bacon and eggs with fried tomotoes and mushrooms, followed by a serve of fruit and juice to make it healthy. YUM!

What meal makes you happy?

Swing me right round, baby

There was a particular swing in the park that I used to go to everyday as a child. I loved being on it, feeling the air rush past my face as I swung myself higher and higher, trying to reach for the sky. Then one day, while I was happily swinging along, a ball came flying towards me, hit me smack bang on the face so hard I fell backwards, landing flat on the ground. Ouch.

The incident hasn't deterred my love for swings, though I did develop an aversion to boys playing ball games in parks.

What do you feel about swings?

Flutterby

I don't often see butterflies in Sydney, but over the weekend at Barrington Tops, I came across quite a few of these beauties, fluttering by, busying themselves, and looking very pretty.

Quiet times

Oh boy, I really love spending time in the countryside. The air is fresher, the land stretches far and wide, even the grass looks greener. I finally had time to read my new book and take slow walks along the river and in the bushland. The river was way too cold for swimming though, which is a real pity as the water was crystal clear. But it gives us the perfect excuse to return in summer...
