When I was about 8, I came first in a dancing competition and my prize was a VCR of Sleeping Beauty. I watched it on repeat so many times, and till this day, cannot decide if I like the pink or blue dress more.
Did you know this was the first movie I watched on the big screen? I remember wishing I had red hair and could sing like Ariel. I loved it so much I bought the soundtrack on cassette too. 
Here's a confession: I always prefered Tinkerbell to Wendy (Wendy was too much of a goody two shoes!) and I really love the idea of believing in fairies.What are your favourite cartoons?

Oh my goodness, I have such memories of watching The Little Mermaid on the big screen and then over and over and over and over at home! To be honest, I think I'd still love seeing it now . . . even though I'm 28 years old. ;) After The Little Mermaid, I love Aladdin the most . . . and that one probably has my favorite soundtrack.
I love all the animated films - Sleeping Beauty (the dress scene, yes!), Snow White, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast. My all time favourite, for its absolute quirkiness, is Alice in Wonderland, and I love the soundtrack too. My other favourite soundtrack is Pocahontas. I just tear up at those songs! xx
The Little Mermaid was definitely my favourite. I loved it so much, I used to get it out at the video store and I would watch it over and over again. And now I own the dvd, even though I'm nearly 22 haha.
You're kidding ... I watched this last night - Sleeping Beauty was so much fun - I hadn't seen it in years either. Ahhh, memories!
those memories are coming back xD, I almost forgot that I've seen peter pan and the little mermaid haha.

I loved seeing The Little Mermaid in the theater, and I still know all the words to all the songs. Now that I am watching them with my boys, I'm loving the more recent ones. Toy Story, Cars, The Incredibles...
Me too I love The Little Mermaid! We used to listen to the soundtrack all the time... the French lobster was always a favourite... zut, alors! :-)

The Little Mermaid has got to be one of my all time favourite Disney movies. I had the same experience as Claire when I was younger ...I would just play it over and over, especially to sing along with the songs! I still have it in my movie collection now :)

in college some roomates & i went through a disney watching faze. omg they are still as good as i remember them to be! something so magical about these movies. :)
I don't remember which animated Disney movie I saw first, or seeing any of them in theaters, but I do remember loving them of course :) I was quite a fan of Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland, and DEFINITELY Aladdin.

I love them all! A few favorites have always been The Lion King, Aladdin, Peter Pan, The Little Mermaid - but they're so magical and fun and beautiful that I truly love all the Disney animated films.
The Little Mermaid will always be one of my favorite movies - it's actually the first one I ever saw in a theater!

the 1st Diz movie I saw on screen was Beauty & the Beast and I have very vivid memories, including my mom buying me my first nail polish and painting my nails before! hehe
Little Mermaid is the movie I was most obsessed with; when I was 3 I got it for my bday and I watched it every day, usually twice. Literally! My mom told me recently that she was getting worried about me and had to slowly wean me from it! hahaha
oh so fun. belle was my favorite.
No matter how good the animations are these days, Disney classics will always have a special place in my heart. My best is Cinderalla, which i must have watched more than 10 times. When i found out they made snow white in the '30s i couldn't believe it!
