Mixed up

All mixed up is what I'm feeling today; it's my last day of work at a place where I've made lots of wonderful friends and enjoyed what I do for the last 4 years, so it makes me sad to leave. At the same time, I'm feeling a whole lot of mixed emotions about my new job that I start next week. I'm excited but nervous, scared but thrilled all at the same time.

Tell me, what do you do to calm your nerves when you feel like that?

Usually, when I'm feeling like that, I go into my kitchen and search all the shelves for Nutella.

Then I grab a spoon, and eat! :)

And then, I await all the new adventures life holds.

when i'm feeling a little mixed up, i find solace in a long, hot shower, some strong coffee, and a long conversation with my mom.

p.s. that photo is incredible!

When I feel like this, I pray.
I remind myself that what God has for me is even better than what lies behind, and He has already gone and prepared it for me and I can walk into it with confidence. xoxo

i actually just had a free 10 minute massage at work today... and it felt sooo good! so i definitely think a nice massage paired with a mani/pedi should help!! oh and eating chocolate too! =)

Oh congratulations on the new job. I think just allowing yourself to feel whatever it is you are feeling. Sad and excited, happy and teary. It is ok to feel that way. I know it must be hard to leave all those memories but think of your new adventures ahead.

I would love to frame your photo. It is stunning. The unknown is always a little scary isn't it? Just remember, the road less traveled and all that. Good Luck.

I tend to run or bake -- both help me calm down. Leaving good friends behind is always hard, but you can still make plans with them and your new job will bring you so many new opportunities. In the meantime, if you need a good recipe, let me know. We'll find the perfect one for you.

Hanging out with my BFF/girlfriends. It helps remind me I have firends and a life outside of work. She also always brings out the positive side and reminds me of the exciting potentials the future brings.

Best of Luck!

i love that picture, first of all. and second of all, a good movie gets my mind off things - and sometimes, thats just what i need.

Usually when I'm feeling like that, I just do whatever I can to keep my mind occupied and not focused on that. Reading, movies, heck even blogging keeps my mind off of it haha. Have a good weekend :)

When I'm feeling mixed up, I just relax and put on some music (it varies from rock so I can scream or slow ones so I can unwind).

Congrats on the new job!! I know those feelings very well. I was very sad to leave a job a while back. When I feel all out of sorts I tend to lye in bed and watch old movies, or sew. Usually the loaf in me wins though :)

Drink some tea and read a fabulous book that really puts things into perspective and makes you feel all warm inside... that's my advice!

Don't worry, you will be fantastic and it'll be a smoother transition than you think!

Yoga and meditation really helps but if you are not into that then a bowl of ice cream might do the trick!

I love the picture you chose here to explain your emotions. It's perfect. What I do... well I ponder and think through my emotions until I either understand them more or give-up because I have a headache and think about them later.

Been there, Trishie! It's a hard place to be, but I am certain that things will go great for you! Sometimes I just have to sit in the discomfort for a bit and know that everything in the end is going to be great!

I think you just have to feel those feelings! It's not negative or dangerous to feel mixed up; I think it's a kind of energy. But I find that painting makes me slow down sometimes. That is what I see in your picture; not being mixed up but escaping into a world of colour and movement!

Hi Trishie, wishing you all the best in your new job! I find that chocolate helps, and a drink! :)
