Happy 2010

Happy New Year!

Hope you had the most fantastic start to the new year, I sure did and I have some really good feelings for the upcoming year; it feels like a time where anything and everything is possible and that makes me super duper happy.

A new year calls for new resolutions if you believe in them (I do!).

In 2010, I resolve to:
  • Spend more time with people I really care about and love.
  • Fill my tummy with lots of good fresh food (no more junk!).
  • Buy and wear only clothes made from natural fibres.
  • Read more classics.
  • Embark on a phD in Linguistics and work on my teaching career.
  • Be good to my skin, which means sunscreen everyday and cleanse, tone, moisturise.
  • Laugh lots and live really really well.

Evergreen

Stu and I finally bought a Christmas tree!Yes, it's teeny weeny (20cm high) and it took us forever to find baubles small enough to hang on it. But it's ours and it's real. We hope it'll grow big and strong for many more Christmases to come.

I got a haircut

Alex, my hairdresser got quite excited when I told him I was going out and insisted on styling it up with soft waves, which is nice.Naturally, this calls for plenty of mirror moments, involving cheek sucking, face making and posing to assess new do. Good fun.

Soft as silk

I bought this silk slip 1 week ago and I'm loving it! There's nothing like wearing silk to sleep, is there? I have a weakness for silk; so soft, so pretty, so comfortable. I also love the lace detail, it adds a touch of girlyness to make bedtime just a little more special. What bliss.

It's taken me a while

But I finally watched it. And I love it!PS: Can anyone tell me what that dog in the desert scene is all about? It's so random!

B is for Blue

A small collection of blue brooches and other jewellery
Little blue dresses
Little blue birds S&P shakers, a gift from Stu's parents when they went holidaying in Alaska.
A while ago, I was tagged by the very lovely Mica. This tag required me to look around the house for any blue items, post about them, select a new colour and pass the tag on. (Fun, right?!)

I would like to pass the tag to:

Boating weekend

In what has become an annual tradition, Stu and I took the boat out for the weekend, and invited a couple of good mates to join us this time. We went fishing and swimming. And spent some time perving at multi-million dollar waterfront properties.
Fed the hungry pelicans.
And cruised around a bit, naturally. What did you do on the weekend?

Bird

On Stu's Xmas wishlist is Bird by Andrew Zuckerman and it's no wonder why. The birds are captured in such vivid detail, it's absolutely fascinating. I really wouldn't mind it for myself, so even better if I can pass it off as a gift for him...heh!

Flowers of Vanuatu

Tropical flowers remind me of my Singapore home.
This is my last Vanuatu-related post, I promise!

Tropical sunsets

How's everyone's weekend? Mine was pretty quiet; had dinner with Stu's parents and did some shopping. Mostly I think my mind was still back at the Sunset bungalows, replaying the spectacular sunset we saw. (But can you really blame me?)

The big blue

Both Stu and I agree that one of the highlights of our trip was the helicopter tour around the Isles of Vanuatu. These pictures may seem repetitive, but I loved watching the sea stretch out into the sky in myriad shades of blues. I really don't think pictures do it justice but at the same time I'm glad to have these photographs to keep fond memories close by.

I'm back!

Although in my head, I make believe that I'm still sipping cocktails by the pool. It's been a wonderful and relaxing week spent in Vanuatu and I'm finding it really, really hard to go back to reality. I've tons of photos to share, so stay tuned.

PS: Thank you all who visited and commented on this little space in the week I've been away, I look forward to visting your blogs again!
