Tagged!

Sometime last week, I got tagged by the very funny Nora Johnson. The rules of this tag is to tell you about some things I love and pass the tag on. Easy peasy!

I love...
  • singing and dancing to my favourite album
  • sharing a secret with my favourite friend
  • daydreaming
  • getting slightly (or a lot) tipsy on red wine
  • and most of all, I love my man, Stu

Now, I'd like to pass the tag to the following lovely blogs:

In my teacup

Little life

Grace Elaine

little lost love

blue bird notes

Yes, please mademoiselle

Chronically Vintage

Simply Colette

White as snow

I'm still thinking of snow, and also mostly about getting away. Call it post holiday blues, but everytime I come back from a weekend in the country, I like the city less and less; the noise, the traffic, the smoke and the dust. Yuck.

Thankfully, these pictures make me feel better.

On our snowy weekend

Stayed at a lovely ski cabin, enjoyed the snowy mountain views, visited a haunted lake, went fly fishing, got my boots dirty, drank lots of wine, read by the fireplace, saw a strawberry sunset.

It was nowhere as cold as I imagined and I really believe your warm wishes found us in Lake Crackenback, so thanks, I had a wonderful weekend away.

Off to the snows

Stu and I hate the cold and we don't dig winter sports, so we just can't figure out why we booked a trip to possibly the coldest place in Australia this weekend - Lake Crackenback. It's a very pretty place though, isn't it?

Hopefully we'll stop scratching your heads once we get there! Have a lovely weekend and see you next week.

Hanky Panky

There used to be a time when every little girl and little boy had a hanky neatly folded and tucked into their pockets. The boys just used them as snort rags (yuck!) but us girls, we happily showed ours off, compared prints and secretly envied whoever had the prettiest hanky. Then one day, the hanky was replaced by the disposable tissue. Very handy but not so fun to show off with.

I miss my hanky, do you miss yours?

Sick days are for...

I've been away from the blogging front for a while because I have been fighting off a sinus infection. I think it fell in love with me and refused to go away, so it took a good few days of coaxing before it dejected walked away. But hurrah for me!

I know that sick days are for resting, but really 12-14 hours of sleep per day is quite enough for me. Daytime TV holds zero appeal to me so I spent the rest of my time baking, eating, reading Frankie, drinking tea and working on my cross stitch. For some reason, counting squares and arranging berries on muffin mix was strangely therapeutic to me.

What do you do on your sick days?

Chase my blues away

Pretty shades of blue to keep the Monday blues at bay.Question of the day: Why does one feel blue when sad? I think feeling grey or black or brown might be more apt.

Coco Avant Chanel

Never mind the bad reviews; I watched it and I loved it. Mind you, I am biased though, I loved it even before I saw it. Now that I've seen it, I love it even more. And I'm badly wanting to own a piece of Chanel.

I got tagged!

I love tags and awards, so imagine my delight when I found out poet has tagged me. This girl climbs trees, makes her own clothes and she tangos- which totally rocks!

Rules: Tag and link back to the person who tagged you. List six little things that make you happy. Tag six bloggers and let them know they're “it".

Ok, here's my happy list:
1. Being out on bright sunny days when the skies are at their bluest blue and the grass their greenest green. 2. Finding clothes or bags at the back of my wardrobe that I had completely forgotten about. 3. Baking or cooking and filling the house with yummy smells.
4. Buying a coveted dress or shoe or bag or anything - at discounted prices!
5. Reading comments on my blog. (So thank you, my dear wonderful readers- you make my day.)
6. Balloons. Of all sorts. They just make me happy.
I'm feeling greedy today so, I am tagging 7 instead of 6:
  1. Shayla shut your eyes

  2. Pink Argyle

  3. Pink Bow

  4. You're On My Mind

  5. dustjacket attic

  6. Lily G.

  7. It's Heavenly
