Let's fly away

Today, I'm in a dreamy mood, thinking of exotic places to go, wondrous sights to see, amazing things to do. Want to join me?

First, let's go walking in this purple field, can you just smell the lavender already? Then we'll head to the desert for some ballroom dancing. (Why not?)Too hot? It's time to go diving under the sea and kiss a mysterious merman.Tired yet? Here is where we'll lay our sleepyheads and gaze up at the stars. Thanks for the company!

Pictures from here.

Cold feet no more

"True love is like a pair of socks; you gotta have 2 and they've gotta match."
Lately, I have a new obssession for socks and tights. Not only do they keep my little feet warm, they're also just so pretty. Everytime I'm at the shops, I drag Stu (poor guy) to the socks and hosiery department so I can oooh and aaah over the latest selections.

Do you have a new obssession?

Pictures from here, here and here.

I really really want to...

wear tulle.Though I'm not so sure I can carry off the look quite as well as this girl in the picture. I'd be too self conscious, not quite brave enough and it'll just look like I'm trying too hard.

Would you wear tulle?

The Secret Garden

"The Secret Garden was what Mary called it when she was thinking of it. She liked the name, and she liked still more the feeling that when its beautiful old walls shut her in no one knew where she was. It seemed almost like being shut out of the world in some fairy place."I am re-reading The Secret Garden, one of my favourite childhood stories. It reminded me of how fun it was to be a child; talking to the birds, kissing the flowers, running around barefoot, sharing a secret. Let's not forget the very idea of magic; it was with magic Mary came across the long buried key and hidden door and found the secret garden.

Why should we ever stop believing in a bit of magic?

Magical pictures from here.

Fresh air, sea views, quokkas and little feet

Did your heart just skip a beat too?Mine did.

Was in Perth last week for work but was lucky enough to sneak away for a lovely day out on Rottnest Island (Rotto, for short). As no cars were allowed, the best way to see the island was on bicycle, so a mate and I pedalled our way around. Crystal clear waters, soft creamy sand and the bluest sky makes for a perfect day out. We left footprints on the sand and said hello to the waves. I was buzzing from the cycling and fresh sea air; it was such a natural high I had to jump for joy. (But wouldn't you, too?)
Now what's this?

Rotto is also home to the Quokkas, a marsupial, like the kangaroo and wallaby, only more rare. They look like a giant rat from the back and a tiny kangaroo from the side. They're super friendly, very cute and seem to be strangely attracted to my feet. Too awesome!
